Hi, I'm Milan Pokhrel.
Trying to make an investment in knowledge that pays the best interest.
Milan Pokhrel
Finance Graduate
I have completed the coursework and assessments for the Master of Banking and Finance at Macquarie University, with final results pending. I am building my career across financial analysis, investment research, risk, banking and market operations, supported by applied experience in valuation, portfolio analytics and financial-market research.
At Macquarie University, I completed industry-focused projects involving business valuation, international capital markets and portfolio management. My work included developing discounted cash flow and relative valuation models for an ASX-listed company using LSEG Workspace and FactSet, analysing equity markets across China, Hong Kong and South Korea, and presenting investment recommendations in a client-style format.
I have also used R to conduct CAPM and Fama–French factor analysis, estimate rolling beta, construct minimum-variance and tangency portfolios, and assess downside exposure through Value-at-Risk analysis. These projects strengthened my ability to interpret financial data, evaluate risk and communicate investment insights clearly.
Through AmplifyME’s Global Markets simulation, I executed more than 170 simulated client trades across equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, oil and gold. I generated $81,553 in simulated commission, achieved 100% in interest-rate curve pricing and scored 93% in energy trading while responding to real-time economic developments and managing market exposure under pressure.
My Australian professional experience at Advance College further developed my commercial communication and stakeholder-management capabilities. I established institutional partnerships, prepared client-facing proposals and represented the organisation in discussions with external partners and community stakeholders.
I regularly follow global financial and macroeconomic developments and write independent market commentary. My technical capabilities include Excel, R, Python, LSEG Workspace, FactSet and S&P Capital IQ.
I am particularly interested in early-career opportunities across financial analysis, investment research, risk, credit, treasury, banking and market operations.
